Blog Post #7 - Compare and Contrast: Two Places
Write
a few "Point by Point" paragraphs comparing and contrasting two
different places you have visited. You can compare South Korea to
another country, or you can compare and contrast two cities in South
Korea if you have never been outside of this South Korea. Possible
topics to compare and contrast include climate, environment, cuisine
(food), culture, public transportation, tourist attractions,
entertainment and night-life. You can state which place you think is
better or worse, but you do not necessarily have to make such a
statement about the quality of a place.

Blog Post #6 - For the Sake of Argument Part II
Look
at you last blog post (Blog #5). For this blog, I want you to take
the other side of the argument. Disagree with your previous opinion
and persuade us to agree with the opposite of what you previously
argued in Blog #5. Why is the other opinion about the topic correct?
Why are your ideas in Blog #5 incorrect or only partially correct?
You are essentially disagreeing with yourself. Try to use Counter-Argument and Argument techniques in your post, and also try to use Concession and Refutation.

Blog Post #5 - For the Sake of Argument
Do
you have any strong opinions about anything? Is there anything that
you often disagree with people about? Write about a topic that you
feel strongly about. Write about your opinion on the topic and
persuade us to agree with your opinion. Why are your ideas about the
topic correct? Why are other people’s ideas incorrect or only
partially correct? Be sure to provide enough SUPPORTING DETAILS for
your argument. If you need help thinking of a topic, read the news or
search the internet for ARGUMENT ESSAY TOPICS.

Blog Post #4 - A Short Personal Story

Tell us a short story
about a time that you were surprised, frightened, disturbed or
disgusted by something. What were you doing before you were surprised,
frightened, disturbed or disgusted? What was it that caused you to
experience these emotions? What was your reaction? Why did you react
this way? What did you do or what did you think after being surprised,
frightened, disturbed or disgusted? Would you feel the same way the
next time something like this happened?

Blog Post #3 - Describe a Setting
In
a paragraph, tell us about a place you have visited. This place can be
in Korea or abroad. This place could be an entire city, a famous
landmark, a small unknown street, someone's apartment, or any other
place you would like to write about. When describing this place, try to
give as many details as you can to help us imagine what it would be
like if we were at the place with you. Think about your senses while
you write. Write about what you saw, smelled, heard, tasted, felt, and
thought while you were at this place. What did the scenery look like?
How was the weather? What kind of people were at this place with you?
How did this place make you feel? Write like you are painting a picture
with words. Tell us about anything you did or anything that happened
to you at this place. Use as many adjectives, adverbs, and intensifiers as you can to describe your experience. You can also include a picture of this place if you have one.
